ACF started as an idea to help consumers match parts and accessories to products they might already own. I initially did some wireframe concepts to show to leadership but, they were not fully convinced it was something Amazon needed.
I went through many iterations including, use of color, naming and placement and ultimately landed on what you see today across Amazon not only in north America but also Europe, Japan with 14 countries in total. ACF is a perfect example of how even a little thing added to a UX flow can dynamically change the outcome. ACF has accounted for over 20 billion dollars in OPS.
The designs shown are the ones done for camera lenses. Part of the design was not only to test Amazon Confirmed Fit, but also to test 3 to 4 touch point designs to find and save your camera to your personal owned items, but to match it easily and find matching lenses and or components that work with your owned product.
I took the extra time to design all new camera icons based on camera types that would work for any localized market. These were also used by DP Review when we were done testing which made the extra time worth the effort.

The concept of ACF and Your Garage just made sense to blend together with our new version of the Garage getting so much traction. If you had a vehicle or two in Your Garage and you entered mileage or synced your vehicle with the app and your OBD2 or BlueTooth on your vehicle, you would have the option to get notifications on your phone to let you know when it was time for an oil change or, when you needed tires or windshield wipers, all syncing with Amazon Confirmed Fit to make sure you are matched to the right products for your car.
We also matched this with our new tire and service partners to allow you to schedule your shop time directly from your cart during checkout, allowing for a speedy transaction without all the pressure or headaches.

Testing testing and more testing.
We moved confirmed fit into Automotive and Your Garage as an easy way to make sure customers get the correct parts for there vehicles. For the North American market, we were able to match the correct vehicle in the banner tool to the persons actual car or motorbike, making it instantly recognizable to the end user. This also worked for the EU and Japan with only India needing a generic Sedan, SUV or motorbike icon.
Adding this to Amazon automotive boosted OPS while also accounting for over 33% of all sales. This accounted for over 3 billion annually.
